Our materials
Cosytas jewelry is made from carefully selected materials that combine elegance and durability. Our foundation is 925 sterling silver and a high-quality metal blend, carefully chosen for its exceptional properties. Discover more about the materials that define the essence of our jewelry.
925 Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is a precious metal that consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. This alloy gives the silver additional stability and makes it ideal for jewelry.
Sterling silver has a natural elegance and a cool, shiny surface that gives any design a high-quality look. Silver can oxidize and darken slightly due to sulfur compounds in the air. This natural change does not affect the quality or longevity of the piece of jewelry and can be reversed by polishing if necessary. Sterling silver is a robust material, but should be protected from intensive use such as heavy abrasion or contact with chemicals.
Occasional contact with water is not a problem, but we recommend removing jewelry before swimming, showering, or exercising. Chemicals such as perfume, hairspray, or cleaning products can attack the surface and should therefore also be avoided.
Metal Blend
Our metal blend consists of a combination of carefully selected metals that have been specially developed for stability and shape retention. This serves as the basis for jewelry that is then refined with precious materials such as 925 sterling silver or 18k gold.
Metal blend provides a resilient base that is particularly durable and suitable for various jewelry designs. The plating ensures a high-quality look that fits perfectly into our collections. Metal blend is robust and can withstand the demands of daily wear well if properly cared for.
Metal blend should also be protected from contact with chemicals such as perfume, hairspray, or cleaning agents, as these can affect the finish.
To preserve your jewelry for a long time, we recommend:
- Remove your jewelry before exercising, showering or swimming.
- Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray or other chemicals.
- After wearing, wipe it with a soft cloth to remove any residue.
- Store it in a jewelry box to avoid scratches.
